Bride - Chengchen Li

Chengchen was born and raised in a small city in China. Growing up, she has always been an outgoing person among her friends, but always showed her timid side in front of large crowds. She went to elementary school and had six years of blast with her friends, but her life changed completely when she went to middle school, where she moved to the United States with her family at the age of thirteen. Adjusting to the new environment, she not only learned a new language, but also met so many amazing people and gained a lot of new perspective about life. She graduated high school in 2006 from Allderdice, and parted with some of her great friends as they all went elsewhere for college. After two years at University of Pittsburgh, she applied to School of Pharmacy and thereon began her journey of a bookworm for four years. In these crazy four years, she has met many people and made a lot of friends, and of course met the love of her life—Zhou...

Groom - Zhou Yuan

Zhou was born as the second child in the family, in a small village of northen China. He did all kinds of outdoor activities in his early childhood and enjoyed everything that the nature had instored. At the age of six, he started his life in a big city when his family moved to the capital of China—Beijing. There he made many friends and excelled in school. After years of happiness in elementary and middle school, and the stressful times in high school, he started a new chapter at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. Though he did not get into his top choice, he realized the importance of staying optimized in any situation, and brought this new attitude to this place yet to be discovered for him. During the four years of undergrad, he majored in Information Management and Information Systems. After graduation, he came to Pittsburgh and received his Master's degree where he dedicated himself in Web Development, which later on became his primary job task at Institute for Learning. Outside of his day job, he founded InfoPotato, Quotagger, and Formlancer. He strongly believes that the good life is guided by knowledge and inspired by love. At the point where he felt he was ready to love and take care someone, he finally met Chengchen...

Beginnings

It was just a typical day surfing on facebook, Zhou discovered Chengchen on a photo posted by a mutual friend from a halloween party. He knew he wanted to know that strange girl in the picture, and since it was tagged, he clicked on the "magical" button of "send a friend request" and hoped for the best. Chengchen, having a friendly nature, accepted his request, and thereon they started chatting back and forth via facebook, messenger, then later on through text as friends. Then the holidays came up, Chengchen decided to throw a party so she can see her friends, and also invited Zhou so they can finally meet. Zhou accepted the invitation, and at the end of the party, drove Chengchen back to her place like a perfect gentleman. The next day, Zhou, wanting to see Chengchen for a second time, decided to form an improptu party of his own, invited Chengchen, and introduced her to all his friends. Unfortunately the party had to end a little early because Zhou has to travel out of town the next morning. So Zhou said he would bring a souvenir for Chengchen when he came back. Throughout the entire trip, the two were texting each other and both of them felt that there might be something special—chemistry.
